No. Downsizing VA is a free resource center. The hands-on work, sorting, packing, estate sales, the full move, and the home sale, is provided by Smooth Transitions of Fredericksburg and Seniors Real Estate Specialist Addison Moulds.
Do we have to sell the home first?
Not necessarily. Whether you sell first, buy first, or move in stages depends on your finances and the market. Addison, our Seniors Real Estate Specialist, helps you choose the order that fits your situation.
What happens to the things we do not keep?
You have options: pass them to family, sell them through a professionally managed estate sale, or donate them. Our estate sale checklist walks through each one, and Smooth Transitions can manage the sale and the donations for you.
