Downsizing VA was created to make a complicated time feel a little less overwhelming. It is a free resource center from Smooth Transitions of Fredericksburg, a local, family-run company with years of hands-on experience helping older adults and their families navigate what comes next.

The information and resources here are free and available to anyone who needs them. Our goal is simply to give you good information, answer the questions you may not know to ask, and help you understand your options. Whether you ever work with us is entirely up to you.
Smooth Transitions is led by Kim Moulds and her family, who work together to help families through every part of a transition, from the first decisions and downsizing to packing, moving, dispersal, and settling into a new home. Addison Moulds, a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) and Senior Transition Specialist, brings the real estate piece into that same coordinated approach when a home sale or purchase is involved. One family, one team, helping your family through the whole transition.
Every transition is personal, and there is no one right way to do it. We meet you where you are, listen to what matters to you, and build a plan around your needs. We communicate clearly, treat your home and belongings with care, and help you move forward at a pace that works for your situation.
