There is no perfect timeline for a senior move. Starting early can give you more time to sort, explore where you might live, prepare your home, and make decisions at a comfortable pace. If your move needs to happen quickly, that’s okay too. The plan should fit your circumstances, not the other way around.

How to talk with a parent about moving
This can be one of the hardest conversations a family has. Start by listening. Ask what they want, what worries them, and what would make life easier. The goal isn’t to make the decision for them, but to help them be part of the decision for as long as possible.
